Because matrescence (becoming a mother) is such a transformational period in a woman’s life, adequate education and understanding of how a woman changes, and what may come up for her, are imperative.
When a woman understands how matrescence changes her, and how she can use these changes to her advantage, she is not only better equipped to thrive in motherhood, but also in relationships and at work.
Dr Jen is driven to help all mothers (and anyone who works with mothers) prepare for their journey into and through the life-changing transition into motherhood.
She uses her extensive medical knowledge to explain the science behind matrescence simply and relatably, and offers simple, purpose-developed, science-backed tools, every woman can apply to her unique life, to train her brain and mind to thrive and feel happier in motherhood.
No stranger to the stage, Dr Jen has presented in a variety of settings from high-science conferences, such as Society for Neuroscience, to intimate workshops with mothers.

DR JEN OFFERS:
Keynote Speaking and Workshops
Dr Jen to inform your audience about how postpartum, and in particular matrescence (the developmental transformation of becoming a mother), changes women and how they can use these changes as a catalyst to truly thrive. Dr Jen mixes real-life stories and science information with light-heartedness and a dash of humour to leave all audience members educated, empowered and ready to thrive in motherhood.
Corporate Speaking and Workshops
The woman who goes on maternity leave is not the woman who returns to the workplace. The returning woman has also been born – a mother.
Dr Jen will educate and empower your mothers to transition into motherhood smoothly and arm them with knowledge to manage the work-life juggle. Dr Jen also offers presentations to inform your employees, who work with mothers, about how women are changed when they become mothers. And how you can support your returning mother to thrive in the workplace.
Hospital Speaking and Workshops
Help educate mother to-be about the life changing time that is postpartum. Known as THE ANTENATAL CLASS FOR MOTHERS, Dr Jen offers a variety of topics to speak to your mums to-be about. In particular matrescence – the developmental transformation of becoming a mother -, how matrescence will change her, and how to use these changes to truly thrive in motherhood.

About Dr Jennifer Hacker Pearson PhD
Dr Jen never set out to become a postpartum specialist and to educate women how to psychologically thrive in postpartum.
But when she found herself struggling in postpartum, after having her third baby, Jen used her knowledge and expertise in neuroscience (in particular neuroplasticity) and psychotherapy, to better understand what she was experiencing in postpartum.
Through more learning of the mind and the all-important concept of matrescence (the developmental transformation a woman goes through when she becomes a mother), Jen spent years developing an understanding of the transformation women go through when they have a baby, how postpartum affects a mother’s brain and mind, and most importantly how you could use these changes, and all that matrescence brings, to train your brain and mind to thrive in motherhood.
Dr Jen is honoured to teach everything she knows to mothers worldwide so they can truly thrive in postpartum.

*I write postnatal instead of postpartum, labour instead of labor, and mum instead of mom because I’m Australian (pure-bred German but Aussie through and through). It is also the reason for my dry humour (humor).
