What you must know to psychologically thrive in motherhood
- When women become mothers, we are changed – physically, psychologically, emotionally, hormonally, socially and spiritually.
- This is known as MATRESCENCE – the transformation (and becoming) of you, the mother.
- During this time your brain is the most plastic* (adaptable) it will be in your entire life.
To psychologically thrive in motherhood, you must understand matrescence, yourself in matrescence, and how you can use the adaptability of your postpartum brain.
* Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to change itself in both structure and function in response to internal and external influences. i.e., to adapt.
